Blogging Tips For Beginners

Blogging Tips For Beginners Simple Synth

Be Your Absolute Self

Put it this way, would you want to see the same thing twice? Probably not, so do something different with your blog whether it is the content you put on or the personality that comes through your content. I'm quite a chatty person when you meet me so I like to type to you guys as if i'm talking to you with a bit a humorous rhetorics to engage you guys.

Good Quality Photos and Titles

I think the best way you can think of this is putting yourself as a blog reader. Ask yourself What would you click on? What attracts you to read a blog? Most of the bloggers I read are typically the well known ones such as DizzyBrunette3 and Couture Girl because their blogposts have high quality photos and a lot of effort has gone into their photography. They use props in their backgrounds such as flowers and have bright lighting along with a good quality image. No, you do not need a Canon 600D to achieve this. I use my iPhone 6 and this works perfectly. I make sure I take pictures when daylight is at its best and do not take just one photo I take a whole bunch of them and pick the best one. However, to make yourself different to others once the photo is taken you can always edit in a certain filter. I usually just use the brighten button on iPhoto. I know some bloggers tend to put a pastel effect, but do what you want - it's your blog!

Also, another thing is blog titles make it suggestive to what the post is going to be about. However, do not over complicate it or make it boring. Not a lot of people will click on it otherwise. Instead of 'Blah Blah Makeup Review' put 'My Experience with Blah Blah, Was It Worth It?'. This suggests that your opinion on the product could be one good but then also suggests bad so in order to answer the question you are immediately attracted to open the post and find out.

Get A Domain For Your Blog

What is a domain? Basically, on my website you can see that the web link is This is all down to me purchasing a domain name. I recommend you buy a domain name I got mine from Go Daddy. They are as cheap as £3.50 so it is definitely worth it. You can google how to do it etc online this is how I found out how to do mine. I recommend getting a domain name as it makes your blog look a lot more professional and someone is less likely to click on your blog if they see ''.

Have A Posting Schedule

For those of you who may have realised I do not have a schedule and this is where I should take on board my own advice. People are more likely to revisit your blog if they know when you upload. This may be one of the reasons I am lacking progress on my blog. I am a very busy person with A Levels and Work but I usually try to post at the end or the beginning of the week. Do something that will suit you; but, it is not compulsory as it is not your fault if you cannot post all the time.

Take Pictures in Bulk

When I take a photo of something I usually tend to take photos of lots of other things that same day. This is usually because of the lighting that day or due to being limited with time. it is also good to take lots of photos so that they are ready for you to use whenever you want. For example I have taken the photo at the top of this page a few days before I wrote this post because I knew I would be too busy for the rest of the week.

Blog Design

You may not have time to post on your blog on a certain day but you may have enough time to redesign it. I think you should go for whatever suits your fancy. For me I love simple hence my blog name ;) But if you like colours and everything then do it! It is your blog after all. Make sure that your font is not too wacky as it may put people off it and this is not what you want to do when you want to get people to like your blog. Design a header that is relevant to you with your blog name in. I used Canva to design my blogger header it took a while with getting measurements in the right place; but I am happy with it now. Also think about investing into a blog design you can get a range from Pipdig but they are very pricey at around £30 and for those of you who do not have that type of money then google free blogger templates as they are easy to download and install. I got mine for free too!

Google Is Your Best Friend

I'm not joking. Google is your best friend. If there is anything you need to know or if there is anything you have to ask then ask Google. The reason is say this is that you will unlikely get a response if you ask a blogger. They are so busy with their own blog and lives that there is rarely anytime for them to reply to you. They spent their handwork researching how to do things too. I spent a lot of time researching domains, coding etc online and i've been through a lot of struggle but Google was always there for my problems. Yes, it is a lot of effort but if you cannot be bothered to search things then ask yourself can you really be bothered for a blog? I don't want to sound mean when saying all of that but if you ask any other blogger they would agree with everything I have just said in this paragraph.

Anyway guys I hope I have helped you with this post as it has been requested from a few people. Please leave a comment down below if you have any relevant questions that I have left unanswered and I will do my best to reply!

Thank-you for reading my lovelies!
