Urban Decay Naked 2 and Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 Palettes Comparison and Swatches

Urban Decay Naked 2 and Makeup Revolution Iconic Palettes Comparison and Swatches

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette(left) and Revolution Iconic 2 Palette(right)

Recently I have noticed that everyone is wanting a Naked Palette recently; But, what a lot of you guys haven't realised is that there are plenty of drugstore dupes out there for the palettes at a considerably cheaper amount. This way all of you who don't want to splurge almost £40 on an eyeshadow palette can get one which is similar to it at just under £5! Now that is a bargain if you're asking me. Then again that is not a reason to avoid the Naked palettes completely as they are definitely worth the money at the end of the day. I am aware that there are also counterfeit versions of the Naked Palette that are available on eBay and Amazon; however, I have never been a fan of fake products as I personally would just rather save up and purchase the real deal as that way you know you have definitely got the bargain for your buck. Anyway before I go off on a tangent I do not trust the counterfeit versions from China as you have no idea if the product is safe to use or not. You can never go wrong when buying the real version. My point is not to say the Naked Palettes are a rip off because to me personally they're not I am here to recommend the drugstore dupe of the Palettes for those who cannot afford the real thing and to avoid any allergic reactions from the counterfeit ones on eBay and Amazon.

..The Comparison..

Price:

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette is £37.00  Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 Palette is a whopping £4.00 WOW! If that isn't an affordable price I don't know what is. The Makeup Revolution Palette works out to be £33.00 cheaper than the Urban Decay one.

Packaging and Contents:

The packaging for the Naked 2 Palette is very simple yet very chic and feels very well protected within its casing. Inside the case are the 12 various colours which are named. Also inside the case there is a mirror the width of the palette and dual ended brush which you can use to apply and blend the shadows with. In addition to this there are 4 samples of different primers inside the box which you can use. I have used the Urban Decay Primers before and they really do help the eyeshadow stay on for a long time.

The packaging for the Iconic 2 Palette is a lot cheaper but still looks very professional, although I feel like the plastic could snap/crack if the palette was dropped on hard ground. Inside the palette comes with 12 various colours which are not named like the Naked 2 Palette. There is not a mirror inside this palette; However, there is a dual ended sponge applicator which can be used to apply the shadows but not blend them very well. (I have tried)

The Shadows

The colours of the shadows are almost identical. I have done swatches of all of the colours and the picture for this will be below including an example of one of the Naked 2 colours on one of my eye and the Iconic 2 version on my other eye. The pigment of the eyeshadows are great but there is a lot of fallout from the Iconic 2 Palette. As you can see the Iconic 2 shade has bit more bronze tone whilst the Naked 2 shade has a more gold tone; however, they are both still very similar. Apologies for my un plucked eyebrows.

Iconic 2 Palette Second Shade

Naked 2 Palette Half Baked

The formulas are both very easy to work with although the Urban Decay Palette being the most expensive it is a lot easier to blend the colours from this palette in contrast with the Iconic 2 Palette. The Naked 2 Palette is very long lasting and this is where you definitely get your moneys worth from the palette as they basically last all day starting from when I apply the shadows until when I take them off at night or after a party. For the Iconic 2 Palette depending on your skin type will depend on how long the shadows will last on your eyelids. If you have oily skin then you will find that the eyeshadows will not last as long, but on average the shadows should last a good 6-8 hours from my experience.

..Swatches on Paper..

Lastly here are all the swatches of each colour and their dupe from both Palettes which shows you a clearer comparison as my skin is quite a medium to dark shade some of the colours didn't show up as clearly on my skin so i decided to swatch the colours on paper so you guys could see the difference clearly. Also the lighting is quite bad so some of the shades are to showing up as shimmery as they are in real life.
I hope you guys enjoyed this blogpost and if you want to see more dupes of beauty products please leave a comment on which palette or other dupes you would like to see! :)

Wow!! I didn't realize this makeup revolution palette was out there, but it pretty much looks like an exact replica of the naked 2. I have the naked 2, but i think the iconic 2 seems like a really great affordable option that i can tell people about. Thank for sharing!
